Awesome Great tour by Pal and Yent . Having Pal with is like having your own personal professional photographer. Extensive knowledge about the various ruins. The ice cold water and cold compresses much appreciated after each excursion.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Great service and guided tour Our guided tour with Samneang was nothing more than excellent. He guided us to the best spots to look for the sunrise or to avoid crowds. He was also very thoughtful with our 9 yers old daughter, and gave us really great background for the Angkor Wat history, the country’s history and even Hindu and Buddhism. We would definitely recommend him and his company for any plans that you would like to accomplish while staying in Siem Reap.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

He shared huge knowledge not only of ancient Khmer culture but also Cambodia’s recent and challenging history. The tour was a great mix of different temples and included just the right amount of time. The bus and cold towels were great too. All in all an excellent trip. Thank you.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Highly recommended two days tour to Angkor Wat We had a wonderful tour to the temples with tour guide Bun and driver Keal. We can highly recommend going on the two days tour, to see not only the amazing Angkor Wat Temple itself, but also other temples like Banteay Srei, built with pink sandstone including incredibly well preserved carvings. Bun told us all the stories we needed to get a fantastic experience of the beatiful and very interesting temples that we visited. Service was very good, with water always supplied and good AC i the bus.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Highlight of our holiday! We had a really fantastic trip! Sam our guide was so knowledgeable - he told us everything we could possibly have wanted to know about the temples and their history and context, but also about Khmer culture and modern history. His English was also amazing! It was just brilliant - every time we returned to the coach we had fresh water and refreshing towels so the heat was very manageable. We were fortunate to see an amazing sunrise too. All in all, the trip was everything we were hoping it would be and more. Thank you!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Classic Cambodian jeep, Cambodian driver, your own Journey Cambodia guide, and live roneat music at the table. Pickup at 3:30 PM, back at your hotel by 7:30 PM.
The Siem Reap Countryside Jeep Excursion and Candlelight Dinner is our most complete evening out in the rice fields. You leave your hotel at 3:30 PM in a classic Cambodian jeep with a local driver and a Journey Cambodia guide. A private monk blessing at the pagoda beside Wat Athvea comes first, then a short farm walk and a small-boat ride across the lotus ponds. Sunset lands at Baitang Siem Reap, a restored Khmer wooden house, where a welcome drink waits with a stunning view over the paddies.
The night peaks with the Siem Reap Countryside Jeep Excursion and Candlelight Dinner itself: your table inside a palm-leaf hut, a Khmer menu cooked from local ingredients, and an artist playing the roneat a few steps away. If rain shows up, we move dinner to the covered first-floor open space; same food, same music, same candles.
Still deciding? The Siem Reap Countryside Jeep Excursion and Candlelight Dinner packs a monk blessing ceremony, a Lotus Silk Farm tour with a boat ride, and a private candlelit feast into one four-hour evening. Every Siem Reap Countryside Jeep Excursion and Candlelight Dinner booking runs with Cambodian staff from start to finish: Cambodian jeep, Cambodian driver, expert Journey Cambodia guide. You taste real Khmer food, hear live traditional music, and still make it back by 7:30 PM.
Most Siem Reap nights follow the same script. Pub Street, foot massage, sleep. Fun, sure. But after ten years of guiding, since 2016, we kept hearing the same wish from guests: “show us the quiet Cambodia, the one past the city lights.”
So we put this one together with the Baitang Siem Reap team. A jeep, monks, a lotus pond, and a table with candles in the rice fields. The Siem Reap Countryside Jeep Excursion and Candlelight Dinner is the result, and honestly? It is the evening we give to our own friends when they visit. Nothing here is staged. The farmers are farming, the monk blesses you, the musician plays it all by hand. You know what that does to a photo album.
Book the Siem Reap Countryside Jeep Excursion and Candlelight Dinner and here is your evening, in order:
Times are fixed but the pace is soft. Here is how the Siem Reap Countryside Jeep Excursion and Candlelight Dinner unfolds:
Your driver rolls up in the jeep and your guide jumps out to greet you. Then it is open air all the way: workshops, sugar palm trees, kids waving, rice fields getting wider by the minute. Our guides grew up out here, so the stories come easy; farming routines, village customs, the odd water bird overhead.
Wat Athvea is a 12th century Angkorian temple with a living pagoda right beside it. You will not go into the old temple; that needs an Angkor Pass, and temple entry is not part of this tour. No matter. The pagoda is where the blessing happens anyway, and the old walls from outside photograph beautifully in late-day light. A monk chants for your group, ties a blessed string on your wrist, and sprinkles water for luck. Hold still; the string stays on for weeks if you let it.
The temple ruins sit inside the Angkor ticket zone, so entering them requires an Angkor Pass. The pagoda next door is a living place of worship, and monks there hold ceremonies without any ticket. You get the real ceremony, plus magnificent photos from outside the walls, and your evening stays pass-free.
Lotus Silk Farm is a social enterprise where makers strip fiber from lotus stems, thread by thread, into one of the rarest natural fibers on earth. Your guide walks you through the beds, introduces the artisans, and shows you the spinning. Then the best part: a small boat, a quiet pond, and leaves wide as dinner plates around you.
Baitang Siem Reap is our countryside retreat: a traditional Khmer wooden house, restored beam by beam, set alone among the rice fields. Your welcome drink comes out cold, the sun drops over the sunset over the rice paddies view, and the photos take themselves. Wander the grounds, study the carvings, or just sit. Golden hour here is a big reason this evening ends with dinner instead of drinks in town.
Your table waits inside a palm-leaf hut in the fields, candles doing the lighting. Dinner is Khmer-inspired, cooked from fresh local ingredients, and served to your group only. Between courses, an artist plays the roneat; soft, bright, a little hypnotic. It is live traditional Khmer music with no speakers, no crowd, no rush.
It is a tuned xylophone from Cambodia’s classical music tradition, struck with light mallets to give a bright, bell-like sound. Hearing it by candlelight, with nothing between you and the player but warm air, hits different. That is the point.
Then dinner moves. We shift the whole setup, candles and all, to the covered first-floor open space of the Baitang wooden house. Same menu, same musician, same evening; you stay dry and the night keeps going.
The jeep takes you back to your hotel with your guide and driver. Four hours, door to door.
Book the jeep, keep the evening. The rice fields will handle the rest.

The Siem Reap Countryside Jeep Excursion and Candlelight Dinner is the evening we recommend to friends who ask what to do on their last night in town. It is calm but full; it photographs like a magazine spread; it ends with candlelight and a live musician instead of a buffet queue. Four hours out, four hours you will keep talking about. We would love to host you.
