Extensive knowledge about the various ruins. The ice cold water and cold compresses much appreciated after each excursion.VerifiedPablo R2024-08-06Great service and guided tour Our guided tour with Samneang was nothing more than excellent. He guided us to the best spots to look for the sunrise or to avoid crowds. He was also very thoughtful with our 9 yers old daughter, and gave us really great background for the Angkor Wat history, the country’s history and even Hindu and Buddhism. We would definitely recommend him and his company for any plans that you would like to accomplish while staying in Siem Reap.VerifiedSwati D2024-08-06Highly recommended tourist guide Mr. BUN and driver Mr.NORA Unforgettable 2 days with Mr. Bun. We can highly recommend going on the two days tour, to see not only the amazing Angkor Wat Temple itself, but also other temples like Banteay Srei, built with pink sandstone including incredibly well preserved carvings. Bun told us all the stories we needed to get a fantastic experience of the beatiful and very interesting temples that we visited. Service was very good, with water always supplied and good AC i the bus.VerifiedMaps6051992024-08-06Highlight of our holiday! We had a really fantastic trip! Sam our guide was so knowledgeable - he told us everything we could possibly have wanted to know about the temples and their history and context, but also about Khmer culture and modern history. His English was also amazing! It was just brilliant - every time we returned to the coach we had fresh water and refreshing towels so the heat was very manageable. We were fortunate to see an amazing sunrise too. All in all, the trip was everything we were hoping it would be and more. Thank you!VerifiedUseng N2024-08-05The view of Angkor wat is very beautiful The view of the sunrise is very beautiful. This morning at 8.00am, depart your hotel to Phnom Kulen, regarded as the birthplace of the Khmer empire and approximately 50 kilometres from Siem Reap. The drive to the base of Phnom Kulen will take around one hour and will take you through pretty countryside. At the summit of Phnom Kulen mountain (a further half hour drive) is a 16th century Buddhist monastery (Phra Ang Tho), and it was here that King Jayavaraman II declared independence from Java in 802AD.
A short climb up a stone staircase leads you to a 17-metre reclining Buddha with views across the countryside. Around the base of the temple, monks and worshipers burn incense and leave offerings of fruit. We then explore nearby winding jungle paths, and see traditional Khmer healers plying their trade and selling Buddhist icons.
Next we take a short drive to the ‘River of 1000 Lingas’. We take time to walk into the water and view hundreds of lingas carved into the sandstone river-bed. It is said that King Jayavaraman II bathed in these waters and believed that the waters were holy. We then follow the river down to where it spills into a two tier waterfall and stop for lunch and a swim. Early afternoon, set out on the return journey to Siem Reap town and arrive back at your hotel mid-afternoon. This tour is ideal for people who enjoy the natural environment and want to add variety to their temple touring. It is particularly suitable for people with children, as there is a lot to see and do.
