EXCELLENT Based on 7756 reviews AChurchill2024-08-06Verified Awesome Great tour by Pal and Yent . Having Pal with is like having your own personal professional photographer. Extensive knowledge about the various ruins. The ice cold water and cold compresses much appreciated after each excursion. Pablo R2024-08-06Verified Great service and guided tour Our guided tour with Samneang was nothing more than excellent. He guided us to the best spots to look for the sunrise or to avoid crowds. He was also very thoughtful with our 9 yers old daughter, and gave us really great background for the Angkor Wat history, the country’s history and even Hindu and Buddhism. We would definitely recommend him and his company for any plans that you would like to accomplish while staying in Siem Reap. We can highly recommend going on the two days tour, to see not only the amazing Angkor Wat Temple itself, but also other temples like Banteay Srei, built with pink sandstone including incredibly well preserved carvings. Bun told us all the stories we needed to get a fantastic experience of the beatiful and very interesting temples that we visited. Service was very good, with water always supplied and good AC i the bus. Maps6051992024-08-06Verified Highlight of our holiday! We had a really fantastic trip! Sam our guide was so knowledgeable - he told us everything we could possibly have wanted to know about the temples and their history and context, but also about Khmer culture and modern history. His English was also amazing! It was just brilliant - every time we returned to the coach we had fresh water and refreshing towels so the heat was very manageable. We were fortunate to see an amazing sunrise too. All in all, the trip was everything we were hoping it would be and more. Thank you! Let me break down your day of exploring Cambodia’s capital city with this Private Phnom Penh city tour:
Your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby right at 8:00 AM. You’ll ride in an air-conditioned car for comfort. We come to ANY hotel in Phnom Penh! The guide will share some basic facts about the city as you drive.
This school-turned-prison tells the sad story of Cambodia’s past. Your guide will walk you through the buildings where thousands of people were held. You’ll see old photos and rooms kept just as they were. The museum shows the tough history in a respectful way. This stop usually takes about 1.5-2 hours.
About 15 km from the city center sits this peaceful-looking field with a dark past. Here you’ll find the Memorial Stupa filled with skulls of victims. You’ll get an audio guide in your language. The grounds have signs that explain what happened at different spots. Most people spend about 1.5 hours here.
Time to eat! Your guide will take you to a good local restaurant based on what food you like. Try some tasty Khmer dishes like amok (coconut curry) or lok lak (beef with rice). Lunch costs are not in the tour price. You’ll have about an hour to rest and eat.
YOU CHOOSE which place to visit!
Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda option: See where the King lives! The yellow and white buildings have pretty Khmer roofs. Inside the Silver Pagoda, you’ll find a floor made of silver tiles and a gold Buddha with 9,584 diamonds! Photos are allowed outside but not inside some buildings.
National Museum option: This red building holds the world’s best collection of Khmer art. You’ll see old statues, pottery, and bronze items from temples. The building itself, built in 1920, wraps around a garden with a fish pond. Great for taking photos!
This temple sits on a small hill (27 meters high) in the middle of town. The name “Phnom Penh” comes from this place! Climb the steps to see the main temple with a big Buddha inside. Watch out for the monkeys that live here – they might try to grab your snacks! People come here to pray for good luck.
Your guide will take you back to your hotel around 4:00 PM. The exact time might change a bit based on traffic and how long you spend at each place. Ask your guide for tips about good places for dinner or night markets to visit later!
This Sightseeing Phnom Penh day covers both the hard history and beautiful spots of Cambodia’s main city. Your Private Phnom Penh city tour lets you go at your own pace and ask all the questions you want!
