Day 1:    Siem Reap to Preah Vihear 

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Siem Reap, venturing into the heart of rural Cambodia. As you journey towards Preah Vihear Province, you’ll make a captivating stop at Dom Deak town, where you can wander through a typical Cambodian village market, offering a genuine glimpse into local life.

The highlight of your day awaits at the 11th-century Boeng Mealea temple, a prototype for the iconic Angkor Wat. Hidden in the jungle, this lesser-known site built by King Suryavarman II promises an exciting exploration. Your cultural immersion continues with a visit to the remote Koh Ker Temple, an archaeological marvel that once served as the 10th-century capital of the Khmer Empire.

After a day rich in history and adventure, you’ll arrive in Preah Vihear in the late afternoon, ready to rest and prepare for the next day’s exploration.

Day 2   Preah Vihear – Anglong Veng – Siem Reap ​

Rise early to visit the crown jewel of your tour – the magnificent Preah Vihear Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage site, perched atop a 525-meter cliff, offers breathtaking views of Cambodia’s plains and Thailand’s mountains. Built during the height of the Khmer Empire, the temple’s stunning architecture and dramatic setting make it a truly unforgettable experience.

After lunch, begin your return journey to Siem Reap with a significant historical stop at Ta Mok’s House in Anlong Veng. Moving from Ta Mok House with a short drive to Pol Pot’s Cremation Site. Pol Pot, known as the Khmer Rouge leader, was a Cambodian communist revolutionary, politician, and dictator who ruled Cambodia as Prime Minister of Democratic Kampuchea between 1976 and 1979. This visit offers a sobering look at Cambodia’s recent past, providing insights into the country’s turbulent history during the Khmer Rouge era. As you arrive back in Siem Reap in the late afternoon, you’ll carry with you a deeper understanding of Cambodia’s rich cultural tapestry, from ancient Khmer ruins to recent historical sites, completing a comprehensive exploration of the country’s diverse heritage.
